LIDO CLASSICS BIG BEAR CAMP-OUT CANCELLED

Hi all Lido 14 Sailors,

I regret to write that we will not be holding the Lido 14 camp-out race at Big Bear or Skinner this year. I ran into several issues that just made it very hard fro me to put things together this year:

• Big Bear just does not want to issue permits for racing.  Very frustrating.
• Skinner Lake group sites and dates were full once Big Bear said no to a permit.
• The Lido Classics continue to run once a month every month as they have for 7 years however participation has been poor lately.  Based on the number of boats I have been getting it was kind of scary to put together a campout that requires 10 boats just to break even.
• My twins both just went off to college this week.  Lots of time getting them all ready for it and also they turn 18 soon...so I would have been away at the lake for their birthday.

RACING SEPTEMBER 13TH ON !!!

WE ARE STILL ON FOR RACING IN SEPTEMBER.  We will still hold racing in Newport Beach at American Legion YC

Saturday September 13, 1pm start (as usual).

This is a week before the Roy Woolsey Regatta (Roy sailed every Lido Classics) so a great chance to practice for his regatta.

So come on down...send me some RSVPs for September 13th in Newport Beach and lets finish out 2008 with some fun racing.  We'll try again for the lake in 2009.
