Super Bowl Regatta

January 30, 2005

Hosted by Anacapa Yacht Club (Oxnard, CA)

Under sunny skies and 8 to 10 knots of wind from the North West, the 2nd annual Super Bowl Regatta was a great day for beginning the Lido racing season. Nine races were sailed on a Windward/Leeward/Windward/Finish down wind course.

In the A Fleet, Team Jenkins and Team Bohman battled it out for the top spot. Team Jenkins won the first 4 races and this proved too much for Team Bohman to overcome. In 3rd place was Mike O'Neill with local junior hot shot Hunter Leary as crew.

In the B Fleet, two points separated first from second with Mike Greer taking first and Dave Boatner a close second. Mike and Dave had a husband and wife team crewing for them with Sandy taking the front seat with Mike and Scott sailing with Dave. We are hoping they will surprise us with a boat of their own soon. Tracy Kenny and Laura Andress from the newly reactivated Fleet 2 took 3rd.

Mark your calendars for the last Sunday of January in 2006 and join us for the 3rd annual Super Bowl Regatta. It is the perfect tune up for Midwinters.
