2002 Balboa Yacht Club Novice/Intermediate Lido 14 Clinics

Balboa Yacht Club presents a new series of clinics designed to introduce Lido 14 sailors to a wide range of Lido 14 racing related topics.  Five sessions are scheduled, one of which is Ullman B Clinic & Regatta.  These clinics will cover a wide range of subjects including: Lido 14 setup, rigging, maintenance, race tuning your Lido 14, class rules, racing rules, racing tactics and strategy.  On the water drills will include: sail trim, boat balance, roll tacking, gybing, starting, mark rounding, etc.

No fee is charged for Feb. 10, April 13, June 29, and Oct. 5 clinics.

Clinics will commence at 1:00P.M.

Clinics are open to Lido 14 owners who are also members of the Lido 14 Class Assn. or of a US Sailing recognized yacht club.  These clinics are not designed to teach sailing.  They assume that participants are well versed in the safe and seamanlike operation of a Lido 14 sailboat and are ready to learn about double-handed Lido 14 racing.  As this event will focus on novice/intermediate sailors, advanced intermediate and advanced level sailors are not encouraged to attend.

Please contact John Papadopoulos - the instructor and organizer of these clinics - for further information.  John can be reached at jakp@mindspring.com.
